Unique Approach - Achieveability

ACHIEVEability is unique in understanding the value of measurements and accountability in helping families reach self-sufficiency. To this end, ACHIEVEability has developed the Family Self- Sufficiency Continuum, a tool for client and program evaluation.

ACHIEVEability evaluates the success of the Family Self-Sufficiency Program by the movement of families along the Self-Sufficiency Continuum. It is an objective tool that informs and reflects a family's progress from dependency to self-sufficiency.

The continuum contains objective, measurable criteria for education, parenting, finances, and personal development. Movement upward along the continuum, from level one through level five, represents success and accomplishments that will bring the family from depending on temporary assistance to independence.

A family works towards clear objectives while participating in the ACHIEVEability program. These objectives are geared to moving the family closer to self-sufficiency.

Self-sufficiency coaches review the Self-Sufficiency Continuum before clients enter the ACHIEVEability program. Coaches refer to the Continuum in required quarterly family meetings where the family and coach reflect on the accomplishments and challenges of the past three months, and update the family's goal plan accordingly. The family and the self-sufficiency coach also rate the family's progress on the Continuum.  This interactive process is an integral part of the ongoing relationship between the family and their coach.
