Personal Development

While in the Family Self-Sufficiency Program, ACHIEVEability parents are required to adhere to their specific goal plans. These structured plans support their strive toward becoming self-sufificient. Personal Development is a key component to their every day interactions with people in the community.

ACHIEVEability provides a self-sufficiency coach for each family entering the program. Their coach helps them create life and family goals and then meets with them to ensure that the family is meeting their goals and progressing toward self-sufficiency.

To help families meet their personal development goals they participate in life skills workshops and seminars provided by ACHIEVEability. Workshop topics include:

  • Anger Management
  • Balancing Work and Personal Life
  • Career Development
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Decision Making
  • Financial Literacy
  • Health and Nutrition
  • Home Management
  • Relationship Building
  • Self-esteem
  • Stress Management
  • Time Management

As each parent progresses toward self-sufficiency, he or she will have healthy relationships, will be an active member of the community and become a mentor of newer ACHIEVEability parents.
