Volunteers Making a Difference - Big Brothers Big Sisters and Penn Medicine

Thanks to the ongoing support of volunteer groups like Big Brothers Big Sisters and Penn Medicine, ACHIEVEability can continue to offer services to the families in our Family Self-Sufficiency Program and the many local residents in the greater West Philadelphia area.

On Wednesday, May 7, 2014, a group of 11 volunteers from Big Brothers Big Sisters Southeastern Pennsylvania (BBBS SEPA) participated in a housing makeover project helping ACHIEVEability prepare a property for a new incoming family. This was the first time BBBS SEPA volunteered at ACHIEVEability and we are hoping that this will not be the last!

The very next day on Thursday, May 8, 2014, a group of 17 volunteers from Penn Medicine, including several doctors and nurses painted the ACHIEVEability Community Services Office. This was Penn Medicine's first volutneer project with ACHIEVEability, and definitely not the last. They are interested in scheduling another project in the upcoming summer months.
