ACHIEVEability Supports the First Malvern Prep School Expedition

ACHIEVEability Supports the Malvern Prep School Expedition

ACHIEVEability was excited and honored to participate in the first Malvern Preparatory Middle School Expedition on Friday, September 27, 2013.

ACHIEVEability was one of a few organizations that participated in this event, helping the Malvern Prep student body to better connect with local missions and issues. ACHIEVEability Self-Sufficiency Coaches Harold Barrow and Shannon Spillman gave presentations to groups of attentive and inquisitive 6th, 7th and 8th graders. They discussed our organization’s mission to break the cycle of poverty and the importance of education. Understanding the importance of education, the students in attendance found a meaningful connection with our program’s mission. ACHIEVEability is looking forward to fostering a partnership with Malvern Preparatory School, possibly building on volunteer opportunities with the student body and staff.

Malvern Preparatory School is an independent, Catholic school committed to the Augustinian values of veritas, unitas and caritas, meaning truth, unity and love. Since 1842, the School’s tradition has been to prepare young men for college, for leadership and for life.  Malvern educates its students in a caring environment focused on academics while maintaining balance between spirituality, arts, athletics and activities.
