Food for Thought 2017
April 22, 2017 / 7:00-10:30 p.m.
Urban Outfitters, Inc. at the Navy Yard

More than 500 friends STEPPED Up on Saturday, April 22nd attending Food for Thought 2017, and helping ACHIEVEability to end poverty. Our guests, including featured emcee and former Pennsylvania Gonvernor Ed Rendell, enjoyed an amazing evening of tantalizing food provided by more than 20 top chefs and restaurants and loads of fun including a live and silent auction, live music and games.

The event, held at Urban Outfitters, Inc. at The Navy Yard, raised more than $260,000 in gross revenue with all proceeds supporting ACHIEVEability's transformative programs.

It is only through the commitment, partnerships and support from our generous sponsors, guests, committee members, donors, featured chefs and restaurants, board members, staff and volunteers that ACHIEVEabiltiy has been been able to, for more than 35 years, provide families with the vital tools to attain higher education, develop careers and become homeowners. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity!

Thanks to our many Food for Thought attendees who supported our Stepping Up to End Poverty Challenge by making generous contributions during the event. Because of their help, and $12,500 in matching gifts from two of our board members, we raised more than $40,000!

We still need help to reach our ultimate goal of raising $50,000. We are less than $10,000 away from this goal and are counting on you to push us over the top! You can still STEP UP to support our families by making a contribution today.

The tomato polenta cake with wilted dandelion greens and smoked calcot vinaigrette, the foie gras with Cherry and cacao, and the smoked local beef brisket with puffed faro, were just a few of the amazing dishes prepared by our chefs and restaurants. It comes of no surprise at how great the food was at the event considering the culinary talent of our chefs who donated their time, expertise and delectable treats to our many guests.

Help us give back to our chefs by frequenting their restaurants - while you are there, please thank them for their generosity for participating year after year in Food for Thought and their commitment to the ACHIEVEability mission.

Our guests had a great time STEPPING UP for photo ops during Food for Thought from the red carpet to the step & repeat, or while on the dance floor.
